:D
Why yes, that is an emoticon in the title.
Today was as satisfying as I had hoped. Went to work a little before 10, turned in my paperwork, and started what I can now call "my job." Granted, approximately 50% of the time was spent sitting around waiting for people to check out equipment, but having expected a much larger proportion made it not-so-bad. Also, the other 50% was spent being super active in comparison. We had to install 6 industrial printers in the building; in this case, "install" means "unpack, assemble, inventory, dispose of packaging, disconnect old printers, connect the new printers, and print a configuration page." Needless to say, I never thought paper jams or moving cardboard would be so frustrating. The contributing factor was simply sheer volume. Now, both of those percentages are estimations, since some time was also spent on familiarizing myself with the equipment room, as well as actually checking out equipment. I scoped out some parking at lunch, and will probably do it again tomorrow; the plan is to be a man on Wednesday and take myself to and from work (yes, this means I'm getting dropped off and picked up for now; yes, like a little kid, I know). All in all a good day, though. I need to talk about taking some of next week off, as some family is coming over from Malaysia and we're probably gonna go to San Antonio. Oh, and I also read a good bit of 1 Corinthians, which is sticking way more to the plan than I had anticipated.
Anyway, after work was ultimate, and it completely fulfilled its title. There weren't too many people (re: last Wed) or too few (re: Sat), and it was well-played throughout. I just capped off the night with rice, dahl, mutton, spinach, and beans, so really, I'm hard-pressed to find any regrets, overall. Suddenly this entry's title doesn't seem all that out-of-place. Bedtime, ho!
Note to self: Use less hyphenated phrases in one post, in general. Also, I need to become more adept at Twittering; which, as it turns out, is related to me still needing to update my links section.
